TAIYO

How might we Create a sustainable and scalable social startup that solves immediate needs of refugees and empowers them to restore their dignity?

Background

Our experience in refugee camps led us to understand that the lack of light had a tremendous impact on the safety and productivity of a refugee camp. Taiyo offers a freestanding system that uses the sun’s power to create light and generate electricity for a variety of tools that enable refugees to use their skills, to support and develop their communities.

Role: Business and communication strategist

The Challenge

The biggest challenge for this project is the existing power dynamic especially the acceptance from refugees. as well as the implementation of our product in highly unpredictable and unstable circumstances.

What If...

Instead of finding a design that would work everywhere, we design something that can be made to work by everyone?
